All our Corsetry is forwarded with laces threaded. If, for any reason you need to remove the lacing it can be a problem to re-thread. Here we have an explanation and diagrams you can print from your browser.shortening the lacesOur corset laces are long and allow a lot of adjustment. Each corset or cincher is threaded with one lace. That lace is tied at the base of the garment. If you want to reduce the length of that lace it is quite easy.
Without untying the lace adjust the corset so that all excess lace hangs out the bottom two eyelets. Only then should you untie the knot. Cut the lace ends to your desired length and seal the lace ends by winding sticky tape around them. This will make any later re-threading easier to do.lacing the corsetBefore starting to thread, ensure the laces contain NO knots. Following the diagrams carefully. Please note the following points - - Count number of eyelets and find middle ones which are the waist point.
- When threading, laces go 'inside to out' never 'outside to in' (except top centre eyelets.)
- At waist, pull laces totally through and check they are equal.
- Lace bottom section loosely and tie knots at base before tightening laces.
